Tech Stuff Tuesday * Do You Have A Kid? If So, You Need To Read This.
Ok, how many of you out there in blog land have kids? C'mon. Raise your hands. Good. Many of you. Now, how many have kids under the age of 10 or so? Got it. Lots of you. You're going to want to know about this new app then. I guarantee it.
You see, this thing is the bomb. Let's just say you have a kid in daycare (even if you don't, don't worry, this is still for you. Just keep reading). And you pick them up each day and what do you get? A sticky note with some chicken scratches on it that says what Little Johnny had for lunch and snack, that he pooped twice today and any other noteworthy items. But one of those noteworthy items today is that Little Johnny took a step or two. And you missed it. Unless. . . your daycare provider snapped a few pictures of the blessed moment and uploaded them into your MomBrilliance account. Ta da! You're at work and yet it's almost like you were there.
MomBrilliance is in a word. . . . brilliant. It's the app that you've been looking for. The app to replace five others you use now. You can upload Little Johnny's peanut allergy in there, along with emergency contact info and any daily instructions or preferences. Maybe he has some special needs that you want to be sure are recorded. Done.
Or maybe he's just staying with Grandma and Grandpa for the evening while you and Dad head out on a much needed date night. If Grams and/or Gramps have the app, not only are they up to speed on who your pediatrician is and which (God forbid) ER or Urgent Care Clinic you prefer, but they can also sync up updates. No need to call home to check on how things are. You can check in from the dinner table, just to make sure all is well and maybe even see a photo or two. Oh and there are ideas in there for things to do with your kids. It's been a while since Gram and Gramps did this kid thing - let the app give them some age appropriate ideas on how to keep Little Johnny busy instead of just popping in Cars2 again.
What's that you say? Aunt Susie lives in Oregon? And she wants to keep up on the latest with her favorite nephew? She can download the app and you can give her access to whatever info/pictures/etc that you want. And talk about a great scrapbook. All of your photos are there! You can download them and print them off if you choose, but remember how your baby book was only half filled out by your mom? This is a much easier option! Just sayin'.
I know you're chomping at the bit, trying to figure out where you need to go to download this piece of brilliance. Here's the catch. It's not quite here yet. But it's close. You see, my friends are designing it as we speak and they've started a Kickstarter campaign to hop the "let's get the app making folks to put this thing together" hurdle (crazy how these app making folks want to get paid for their time and effort).
Not only could your $5, $10, $20 or $100 contribution make this thing a reality, but it also gets you in on the front lines of this genius tool. You see, your contribution, depending on the size, gets you the app for free and more. You could have a subscription for a year, for life or you could even get Little Johnny's face featured on the app and the website! And grandparents and Aunt Susie, listen up - this makes a great gift for a new mom or dad. And hint hint - the holidays are coming. Plus, can you deny this cute face? Neither could I. The Hubbs and I are in. The bonus daughters are long past daycare days. But we sure wish there'd been something like this around back in the day!
Check out the informational page and video (starring one of my favorite cuties on the planet. See said cutie above). And go donate. For your kids. For yourself. For your grandkids. For your peace of mind. But do it today. These Kickstarter things don't last forever, you know.
And you know what else? You're welcome.
